Preliminary exercise Shot sizes.
Me and my teammates created a storyboard explaining different shot sizes. A medium shot is one the examples we used in our storyboard PowerPoint. In the storyboard we explained many different things in our shots. We gave definition of the shot sizes, the purposes of the respective shots, the genre, tone, action lines, and background information for each image. On the medium shot slide one of my group members Nycholas is getting in a combat stance. We used this medium shot because it fits the criteria of what a medium shot is very well. Going from his waist and up to his head.
In the second example we did a wide shot. This wide shot is supposed to have a conative meaning on loneliness. In the photo Nycholas is standing by himself in a very dark room. The wide angle emphasizes that nobody is with him. It makes it look kind of scary or mysterious. The empty chairs also add more creepiness. It makes him look like a ghost that is haunting a classroom. I believe this photo fits a wide shot perfectly.
