Preliminary Exercise 3 B: Introduction to Mise en scene Codes Organizer
Genre in film are the categories that we put film such as horror, comedy, action and etc. There are also hybrid genres which a mixture of two different genre. A subgenre is an element of a main genre example slasher and gothic are subgenres of horror. Genre is important because it lets the audience know what type of film, they will end up watching letting them know what type of films they like so when a new film comes, the audience will watch it if they like a certain genre. I have three major genres that I like a lot first being adventure, Second action, and lastly comedy. I like adventure because of the journey they usually have they also very beautiful scenes because they almost always take place somewhere outside. I like action because of the fighting scenes they are really cool to me they also look very good they have many visual codes to keep you engaged. Comedy the reason I love comedy because its beings joy to the audience the people are laughing, and the movies are very entertaining with family and even friends they are really fun to watch.
Me and my partner ElitePlayz created a poster explain a genre's codes and conventions me and partner used color drawings to attract our audience to our poster we added many things that relate to science fiction, or a science fiction move in specific. The directions of the assignment were to discuss key elements of Mise En such as setting, set design, and acting to name a few. Then we were instructed to construct the bubble diagram made from 18" X 24" White paper. In this exercise I learned the different codes of the Science fiction genre how the color or the scenes can affect the mood and even how to props are used to make the movie more realistic. Me and my partner ElitePlayz worked diligently on this we both looked for different codes in different sci fi movies and we plug the information from the media text we observe. also drew different props commonly found in science fiction.
