    The study of media studies is important to learn more about media and learn of its conventions and things media is made of.  Studying media explains your media consumption it helps you understand things companies do to engage you. It can help you if you have a career about understanding or promoting media example if you work for Warner Bro Pictures. Now that I have started studying media I now understand how companies track my media consumption and what they use to engage me with their products. This understanding of the media I use makes me observant when I do consume media. Overall the study of media is beneficial in day to day comprehension of things you see around you.    

      I will documenting my blog on a 2 minute film opening. I would to create a horror type film because they are films that are very interesting to watch and I think I will enjoy making one.  My target audience are teens reason being I am teen so I know what they are interested in and how they think what goes through their mind. I will need to learn techniques to emphasize important parts in the film and techniques that help with sound effects also the importance of setting. My movie should be released before Winter Break.

The first strategy I need to learn to do well on component 1 is mis en scene that will help me make my scenes have many signs and deep meanings. The second strategy is setting if I can learn how the setting affects the story deeply I can know what setting need for moments in my film opening. The third strategy is semiotics this will make my audience more engaged cause they try to decode the different signs in the movie. The fourth strategy is sound effects becoming good at this and knowing when  to use them will help decode meanings within them.

 Genre in film are the categories that we put film such as horror, comedy, action and etc. There are also hybrid genres which a mixture of two different genre. A subgenre is an element of a main genre example slasher and gothic are subgenres of horror. Genre is important because it lets the audience know what type of film, they will end up watching letting them know what type of films they like so when a new film comes, the audience will watch it if they like a certain genre. I have three major genres that I like a lot first being adventure, Second action, and lastly comedy. I like adventure because of the journey they usually have they also very beautiful scenes because they almost always take place somewhere outside. Camera movement is important in film because it helps add different elements into a film. An example is to emphasize on specific subjects.
