1. Michael Kahn,
who was born on December 8, 1930, is a well-known American film editor recognized for his frequent collaborations with Steven Spielberg. Their partnership began with Spielberg's 1977 production, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and since then, Kahn has edited all of Spielberg's subsequent films, with the exception of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in 1982, which was edited by Carol Littleton. Kahn has garnered eight nominations for the Best Film Editing category at the Academy Awards, winning three times for his work on Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981, Schindler's List in 1993, and Saving Private Ryan in 1998, all of which were directed by Spielberg.

Menke was a longtime collaborator with director Quentin Tarantino and was nominated for the Academy Award for Film Editing for Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds and Pulp Fiction. Smalls (2001), All the Pretty Horses (2000), Jackie Brown(1997), Nightwatch (1997), Mulholland Falls (1996), Pulp Fiction (1994) and The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe (1991).
