Preliminary Exercise: What is editing in film.

 The act of choosing, organizing, and modifying video to produce a compelling and coherent story is known as film editing. In order to successfully and fluidly portray the intended story, mood, and emotions, many images and scenes must be combined.


Since it can greatly affect the overall quality and efficacy of the finished result, editing is a crucial step in the filmmaking process. The pace of a movie can be accelerated, suspense can be increased, and viewers' emotions can be evoked. The impact of the movie might be diminished by shoddy editing, which can cause confusion, disorientation, or disinterest.


To produce the desired result, the editor closely collaborates with the director and other members of the production crew.

 Genre in film are the categories that we put film such as horror, comedy, action and etc. There are also hybrid genres which a mixture of two different genre. A subgenre is an element of a main genre example slasher and gothic are subgenres of horror. Genre is important because it lets the audience know what type of film, they will end up watching letting them know what type of films they like so when a new film comes, the audience will watch it if they like a certain genre. I have three major genres that I like a lot first being adventure, Second action, and lastly comedy.
